Newcastle Line Up Monaco Pre-Season Fixture

Newcastle United have been approached and offered a pre-season friendly by their former European rivals Monaco.

United have already lined up friendly’s against Wacker Innsbruck and Dynamo Kiev early in July and with the Toon Army already stationed in Eastern Germany with Monaco also touring, the Stade Louis II second division outfit have decided to offer Newcastle the chance to play against a former European giant.

Monaco these days are not the team that they were, they are no longer in the top division of French football, however, former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri is now head coach and things are looking up for the glamorous football club.

Former Barcelona and Roma ace Ludovic Giuly is now the skipper of Monaco which will give the United players a chance to play against a top professional.

However, Pardew’s men should really be expected to beat Monaco, this fixture now adds to a tour of the Algarve to play FC Porto and Olympiakos which will be more benefit to Pardew’s men as they look to prepare for their first European campaign in six years.
