From Barcelona to Brentford – A Video tribute to Shola Ameobi

With the transfer season already in full flow, Newcastle fans across the country are eagerly waiting for news of exciting new signings.

Rumours have been flying about everywhere and the club have  been linked to over 100 players so far this window; these targets predominantly being strikers. And with Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse already representing a formidable strike-force, capable of ripping apart any Premier League defence, Newcastle’s attacking unit will only improve.

But one man who will perhaps be left behind during these improvements, and who is one of the club’s longest servants and most admired players, is Shola Ameobi (The Mackem Slayer).

And here, thanks to , we can take a look at all of his 72 goals for the club.

The video description reads: From Barcelona to Brentford, they’re all there. Over a decade of genius from the greatest slayer of mackemdom the North East has ever seen.

If you want to see the Mackem Slayer doing what he does best, these are the times: 04:4304:5206:5307:1909:4309:5610:52

Over the years, he had become one of the most well-liked players to wear the famous black and white striped of the club. If he were to reach 100 goals for the Toon, he would become a legend.

What is your favourite Shola Ameobi goal?
