Tyne-Wear Derby Statistics: Enough Said
In the build-up to the Tyne-Wear Derby on Sunday, there's a lot of back and forth between supporters of both Newcastle United and Sunderland, as you might expect.
A lot of it is in good fun and some of it is overly serious, but little of it is rooted in fact. This post will deal in fact, with no editorializing, though that is certainly welcome in the comments section.
I’ve compiled several statistics that should help you if you find yourself in an argument with a mackem, because the only thing worse than an SMB attempting to take the moral high ground is an SMB hopelessly trying to argue that Sunderland are objectively a better club. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Statistics won’t tell the whole truth in football, but they will paint us a picture, and the picture these stats paint is very black and white indeed. Enjoy:
