The Tweets: Loic Remy Set to Turn Down Newcastle?

The deal seemed done and dusted. An £8.3 million fee had been agreed with Marseille for Loic Remy and he was supposedly on his way to Newcastle to complete a medical before imminently signing for the Toon.

But oh no, there’s a hitch. Of course there’s a hitch. There always is when it involves Newcastle.

It now looks as though the lad could be signing for QPR, with Harry Redknapp’s gang of poachers circling in on a potential transfer.

And it’s former Toon midfielder, Joey Barton, who has revealed this potential deal. On his Twitter page this evening, he announced that QPR are set to pull of a shock deal in bring him in.

It’s not the first time Harry has done us over as well. Last season he revealed to the footballing world of the release clause in Demba Ba’s contract. And now 12 months later, our top scorer has left the club for the ridiculous fee of £7 million.

It was inevitable. He’s the reason for the departure of our star striker. And now, of course, he has to do something to get in the way of his replacement.

There’s no guarantee that a deal has been completed already. But what we can be certain of is that Harry doesn’t understand the term: Gentleman’s agreement. To try and hijack a deal this late on is shameful.
