Newcastle Agree Deal to Take Frenchman to Tyneside

Newcastle have agreed a fee with Montpellier for defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

Newcastle have thrashed out a deal with the French champions, and they now only have to agree personal terms with the player.

This news is fantastic given that our defence has been leaking goals all season.

And with the potential departure of club captain Fabricio Coloccini, we need to bring in a class center-back to fill the gap of a player who was an invaluable asset last season, earning himself a position in the Premier League Team of the Year.

Boss Alan Pardew will however not be taking his arrival for granted – he thought he had striker Loic Remy in the bag last week, but he opted to join QPR instead.

You can see our evaluation of him here, when we were previously linked with him in the Summer.

Great news! Let’s hope we can actually completely thrash out the deal this time!
