Newcastle have reportedly offered £12m for Vitesse striker Wilfried Bony.
An international team-mate of Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote, Bony has caught the eye with 16 goals in 18 games already this season for Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie in Holland – making him the league’s top scorer.
It’s currently unclear whether or not the interest is concrete – both the Daily Mail and The Telegraph have reported the offer, but the club have yet to confirm an offer has been made.
However, whether its true or not, the striker would certainly fit the bill. Being 24 years of age, he’s currently in his ‘prime’. Furthermore, it has been suggested that the Dutch club would settle for a fee around the £12m mark that we have already matched.
Whether this supposed bid will be accepted remains to be seen. But in the meanwhile, you can take a look at him in action:
