Cabaye to link up with former boss?
Yohan Cabaye's future has been under much speculation lately with links to the likes of Manchester United, PSG and AS Monaco. And the latest name to be linked with Newcastle’s star midfielder are Italian giants AS Roma, headed by newly appointed Rudi Garcia.
According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Rudi Garcia, Cabaye’s former manager at LOSC Lille and the new coach of the Giallorossi, has identified the midfielder as his number one target to replace Daniele De Rossi who looks Chelsea bound.
Cabaye was also the captain of the Lille side that won the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France under Garcia in 2011.
Mike Ashley has shown that he is willing to listen to big money offers for his star players and Roma are not going be short of any cash after they were overtaken by a consortium, led by Thomas DiBenedetto.
Only last week Yohan Cabaye had this to say about his possible move to Manchester United;
“Yes, of course. I’ve liked this club for a long time, I like what they do,” he told Canal+.
“The boss has left but they have appointed a very good successor and he did some good things with Everton.
“They are always well played among the big clubs. Yes, for sure, it would be an interesting challenge.”
And on a possible across the channel he had this to say;
“I have no direct contact with anyone; maybe my agents are currently in the know,”
“As for me, I am here listening. I like England as well. I will need to look at the situation but you never know.”
So there is a possibility that he could move on this summer.
Let us know if you think that Newcastle should accept a big offer for him in the summer or you would like him to stay to help the new French players settle
