Newcastle in late pursuit of Ince?

Following a painfully quiet summer for the Magpies, the Club's fortunes for the season could hinge upon any eleventh hour deals being conjured up by Kinnear & co.

One rumour which is doing the rounds after being reported by The Daily Mail & Mirror is that Newcastle have renewed their interest in Blackpool winger Tom Ince.

The Club has apparently enquired about the availability of the 21 year old, who has established himself as an integral part of Blakpool’s attack, notching 18 league goals last season from the wing.

A deal, however, could be unlikely to come to fruition in the next few hours given the circumstances. For a start, Ince recently rejected a move to Cardiff City in favour of staying with his family in Lancashire following the birth of his first child.

Nevertheless, the England U21 regular allegedly stated he would be ready to make a move to the Premier League in January, thus allowing him more first-team football in the Championship for the time being.

If the Club was to make a formal approach, Kinnear could find himself with stiff opposition from Spurs and Everton who have also been tracking the youngster.

It is thought that Ince would be available for around £8m, the fee Blackpool initially accepted from Cardiff. Though the collapse of the deal was publicly put down to personal terms, perhaps the ex-Liverpool man feels he’s capable of plying his trade at an even higher level. After all, a player that attracts interest from the likes of Spurs and Liverpool may not be willing to settle for less.

That said, it remains to be seen whether Ince would be open to a move to St James’ Park in the next few hours, or possibly January. No doubt, he’s been one of the stand out players in the Championship for the past few seasons, and when put against the amount United paid for Zaha, £8m is far from being daylight robbery.

At the time of writing this, any deal for Ince was still far from any medical or paperwork. Perhaps Newcastle’s Deadline Day should be considered a “success” if Cabaye is still in black and white come tomorrow (but only for the optimist).

  1. dont be so stupid
we have all been conned by ashley and kinnear[i canspeak to any manager in the world] they think we are all idiots,
if pardew had any guts he would walk and spill the beans on what these clowns are doing

    • Puppet Pardew is complicit. He spouts off to the press about key signings ancd getting one over the line, he talks about offers for our players that have not even been made (the other day spoke of fearing a bid for Ben Arfa – why put that out there). He does not have the guts to walk, he does not have the brains to keep quiet and he does not have the ability to manage our Club

  2. we will be relegated by xmass fact we struggled against ffc on sat

What do you think?
