Newcastle Agree £4.2m Deal for Man City Player?
Rumours are circulating Twitter (as they always seem to do these days), that Newcastle have agreed a £4.2m deal to sign Manchester City and England centre-back, Micah Richards.
The news, which was first reported by a football writer under the Twitter alias of ‘@FNN_Official.
Manchester City right-back Micah Richards (26) is set to make a £4.2million move to Newcastle. #MCFC #NUFC

As far as I can see, the source is reasonably clued up – he writes for a number of credible football blogs, one of them being the well-regarded MCFC Forum.
Since then, several other self-prolaimed “ITK” accounts have carried the story. Micah Richards has had a tough past few season at the Premier League Champions.
The main attribute for Richards, who has been at City since 2005 and made just 179 appearances, is clearly his physique and strength to shrug off attackers but also his versatility.
Newcastle currently boast Mike Williamson and Fabricio Coloccini as the starting centre-backs. Both players have been fantastic servants to the club, and its unknown whether a (potentially) incoming Richards would replace one of these lads.
Nonetheless, when looking at the depth of our squad, the centre of defence is one of the weakest areas in terms of depth, at least.
Hopefully the powerhouse with 13 England caps sees his future on Tyneside rather than on the bench like many other young English talent being squandered at Manchester City.
Comments Welcome
He’sa right back by trade, I wouldn’t play him as a CB!
IMO He is a better CB than FB. He is such a large unit that he can be turned rather too easily. He needs to loose a stone in weight (down to cruiserweight!!).
He is a lovely boy who IMO needs moving out of his comfort zone. But keep him away from penalty shoot outs.
With the right partner he could do a job for Newcastle.
But I imagine Newcastle would primarily play him as a Centre-back, while Lascelles is still at Nottingham Forest.
He played CB for the England U21’s rather a lot, and used to play CB every now and then at Man City (when he got more game time).
if it’s true i see the sense in it, 4.2 million is a low fee for a relatively young player, with potential future sell on value, as well as being a full international (will probably take over glen johnson soon as 1st choice right back), he could be brought in to play centre-back, or cover for janmaat if he fails to adapt (unlikely) or if he get’s injured, would be a very tidy squad player but would like to see him make the starting 11, only way i see it happening is at centre-back, he’s got pace, is strong and good in the air, tbh his characteristics are better suited to being a cb, hope it’s true, were linked earlier in the summer before janmaat, then a quoted fee of around 6 million??? could man city be wanting to offload this summer like with Rodwell? Let’s have this English talent fulfill this untapped potential even if it is with us ”small clubs”
England talent being squandered by City. You’re delusional and clearly know nothing about football which is probably why you have taken to writing this dire nonsense. Take a look at Micah’s injury history and what he has done when he has been handed a first time place. English players will always do well at City of they are good enough. Take a look at City’s academy, its continued success and the large number of English players being brought through. You deserve Ashley and the other cockneys very well with your ignorance and stupidity.
What young english players? You just buy!
November 2013
‘Five City Academy players joined up with England u16s for the very first time this week.
Cameron McCulloch, Joshua Murray, Elan Assiana, Diallo Sadou and Lukas Nmecha made the cut after impressing at England’s pre-season development centre at St George’s Park.
All five are now in contention to face Northern Ireland at Bournemouth FC on Friday night’.
Now get back under your bridge.
Man City DO buy everything….My son is 12 and at Watford academy, and Man City agreed terms with the club to BUY him!!…..We told them to get stuffed.
@BillytheLiar: Sure they did. Maybe in your deluded world, but in reality your fat kid spends his time watching tv and stuffing his fat face with crisps. Just like his dear old Dad.
@Preamble One’oh-one well you’re a pretty nasty bloke aren’t you.
If they are good enough they get in the team unlike your team of French imports.
Plenty check out the EDS and pages moron. Your are a typical ill informed plastic.
You, sir, are an obnoxious pillock. Just because a team like City does not guage a player as “quality”, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re right.
They’ve spent £930 MILLION over the past six seasons, buying English players they just don’t need. Both Soctt Sinclair and Jack Rodwell were purchased and completely and utterly wasted by the management, Yes, they may not have been on the same level as those above them, but that does not justify keeping them in the reserves to rot.
Please tell he who these players they spent £930m on Harry and thier prices, oh sorry you can’t can you cos you’ve simply made it up, clown! Like Scott Sinclair was bought for the first team at £6m what a loon! Rodwell was injuried most of his time there, what they gonna do drop a title winning player to give him games, try thinking ya dummy!
Here you go, Alan, you absolute mug:

Haha Harry you have done it again. That is not their expenditure on English players. That is buying the club, buying players, upgrading the ground, building the best football youth development facilities in Europe, if not the world, wages, paying off debt, and then there is all the income generated. Really, you just keep digging yourself in deeper. Ask yourself how much Madrid or Barcelona have spent, aside from buying the club, construction etc. Remind me never to ask you to take part in the debating society.
Btw, ‘Arry, you link an article that is over two years old. So the figures it quotes are not even reasonably current. Poor effort, lad.
Wow what a simpleton, you wanna try reading things before you spew your guff out you nugget!!! No where and I mean no where does that say ‘They’ve spent £930 MILLION over the past six seasons, buying English players’ or any players for that matter!!! I mean that is what you said isn’t it? TOOL bet ya not lookin forward to going back to school and gettin bullied for being the imbercile you clearly are eh? lol. (P.S. I am an asshole)

Beats an out and out liar every day.Fattie can sign for Macdonaldscholestrol rovers
and you’re really rationale? You wish.
You lads really are thick as two planks aren’t you. The “English players” quote is obviously not in direct reference to the £930m figure, it’s a separate clause.
My point is: the plastic-surgery undergone by your club over the past few years is disgusting. You have bought a lot of players (many of whom you don’t need) for a lot of money, and many of those lads, who have a lot quality, have been treated like shit by the neglectful management: they are after products of the tumorous hole that is Manchester City.
“wasted” because they were not good enough which about sums up Frenchcastel perfectly. You sign french players because they are cheap and this season you are going down. With your thick cockney manager.
Don’t assholes get things totally wrong then try and back track like you for instance? Isn’t it plastic surgery Newcastle fan want for there own club, like they had in the 90’s? Isn’t what happened to City always been a dream for down troden clubs ‘one day we’ll get investment and get some where’? You give Newcastle fans a bad name you little dweeb!
Reblogged this on olumidetoki and commented:
happy f0r him
preamble.one oh one. I suppose your were a united fan till 2012 were ya? It’s easy to come and criticise when every trophy you have won has been bought. We stand by our team through thick and thin always have always will. Get off your high horse you prick. Yes it’s great your bring through young English talent now but where are the young English lads who were in your academy/reserves 4 or 5 years ago?? Oh yeah never got a sniff. Must be hard when you can shell out money all day long on players. We know we are loyal just wonder who your gunna support next year when you don’t win the league this season.
Dipsticks like you are two a penny. Really hope that CAshley finishes you off once and for all. You are a plastic like most so called fans.
See muggins we don’t have a chairman who is happy to piss money. Cashley is a tit yeah but financially we are safest club in league. We stand by our team through everything whether we hate it or not. Like I said I wonder who you will support next year when you don’t win the league. Truly hope we put first dent in it you glory hunting bunch of cunts. UTM!!!
You probably were a ManU fan too. So easy to see, Plastic
Haha plastic we know who are team is. We don’t change between which team finishes higher unlike yourselves. Yes we have cashley we weren’t so lucky to have someone ride in on a camel and start throwing money around. Your in no position to criticise anyone considering you had minimal support until you were bought out. Money isn’t everything we will see that on Sunday!
Sir Cecil, I just want to clarify: are you (a Manchester City fan) calling a Newcastle United fan plastic? If so, you clearly know fuck all about football and the dynamics of Newcastle United’s fanbase.
Plenty of plastics at Cockneycastle an you know it. I bet you live in London. Me I am and Arsenal fan but find your silly club laughable What have yo ever won you idiot.
The most poorly constructed sentence I have ever seen… and you’re calling me an idiot. Bet you don’t even have A Levels.
We win nothing but we still turn out every single game far and wide to support our team it’s easy to criticise isn’t it. Think your top of world because you scraped past hull in final last season?? What did you win for years before that?? Exactly crawl back into your hole you cockney cunt and yes I am born and bred newcastle I know we are shit at times other times not so shit. Like I said who the fuck are you. Who do you change between spurs?? Chelsea?? Arsenal are nobody so don’t get carried away mate. Happy to scrape into the top 4 at the last minute every year. Your not a big team! We know who we are and where we stand and we still turn out every week. Do everyone a favour and choke
Sorry Ross but City won FA for years they didn’t have Sir John Hall splashing out the dosh for the big time Charlies like you lot in the 90’s but still managed 47K averages over 10 years ago when they had a team that cost peanuts and were total crap, The crowds are the same now but apparantly they’re plastic fans, Well acording to the retard that wrote this shite any how, comical really!
From a real city fan who has not missed one game home or away, and has had to go to the likes of Stockport county , port vale, grilling ham and watch us get beat. I love all these comments these days off all these clubs fans who used to hate united and Chelsea and arsenal but now for some reason hate city. Ask urself if mr mansour bought your club would you still be jelouse if you had the last god knows how many years of ups and downs and leagues that we have had. He choose city because he not thick, he’s one of the richest men in the world, and if you are not all the clued up, football is now a bisuness, and he saw an opportunity to make himself a lot richer, but he also has give back in2 the community if you take the time to look at what he is actually doing away from the club, by the building work goin on around it. He’s building all sorts and making job oppertunities for people and also university’s and living accomadation there is all sorts going up and goin on in Manchester. And by the way I will be gutted to see Richards go, and he will be one of the best signings you magpricks buy in a long long time..
Come on swansea
