According to the Chronicle Newcastle are interested in signing FC Twente striker Luc Castaignos in January.
The local North-East newspaper reports that the club are ready to fast track their moves for a striker of whom Castaignos is one.
The former Feyenoord man has been a long term target of the Magpies; in fact from before the time he signed for Inter back in the summer of 2011.
Since signing for the Tukkers back in 2012 the striker has had an excellent time of it and has scored nearly one goal in two matches, bagging himself 32 goals in 72 Eredivisie appearances.
The 22 year old is also a youth international for Netherlands having been capped for all underage sides since his U-17 debut in 2008-09.
The club has had serious financial problems over the last few years and could conceivably sell their most prized asset who has got five goals in Eredivisie in January. Although a lot could come down to how the they are doing in the league in which they currently sit fifth.
