Newcastle Scouting German International Winger
It seems Germany is becoming a target for Magpies who in the last few months have been linked with the likes of Pierre Michelle Lassoga, Sebastian Jung, Robin Knoche and Antonio Rudiger.
Bellarabi is a winger who can play on either wing, he spent last season on loan at Eintracht Braunschweig and was club’s one of the best players despite relegation and missing few games because of injury.
So far this season the 24 year old has played 14 games and has scored four goals including scoring within nine seconds against Borussia Dortmund on the first day of the season; fastest ever goal in the Bundesliga. He also has four assists to his name.
The winger recently made his international debut for Germany in their 2016 Euro qualifier against Poland; he also played in the 1-1 draw with Republic of Ireland in the same competition days later.
So high has been the star of the player with Moroccan descent that apart from Newcastle, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have all sent scouts to watch him play.
Although he would definitely be an upgrade on Wing options at St. James’ Park there could be a couple of stumbling blocks to a potential deal. Would he want to leave a club playing UEFA Champions League regularly? And how much would Leverkusen want for him?
Either way, he is undoubtedly a talent, and its always refreshing to see us being linked with someone who isn’t French!
