Former Swansea City manager and Barcelona Legend, Michael Laudrup, is now one of the favourites to fill the vacant managerial position at newcastle United, having after his odds were significantly slashed by a number of reputable betting outlets.
While Bet365 have dashed his odds from 66/1 down to just 6/1, you can find odds as low as 4/1 on the SkyBet website.
The the trio of Remi Garde, Steve McCalren and John Carver are still cemented in place at the top of the market, there has been mention of a mystery fourth candidate having been interviewed by the club.
Laudrup is currently manager of Qatar Stars League champions Lekhwiya, with whom he has been in charge of since June. However, if the betting is to be believed the 50-year-old could be on the verge of returning to the Premier League a year after leaving Swansea City.
I would personally be delighted if Laudrup were to be approached. Not only did he have a very impressive record at Swansea, but his reputation in the world of football would go a long well in elevating our stature as a football club.
