VIDEO – Newcastle Set to Secure Fourth Signing of the Window

According to Sky Sources, Newcastle are on the brink of secruing their fourth signing of the January transfer window.

Ivorian powerhouse, Seydou Doumbia, has arrived on Tyneside for a medical, and is expected to be announced as a Newcastle player in the next few hours.

Doumbia, 28, has had a nomadic career so far having played in the Ivory Coast (where he was born), Japan, Switzerland, Russia and Italy.

He started to make a name for himself during a prolific spell at Young Boys, based in the Swiss capital of Bern, and he was already being linked with a move to the Premier League six years ago, with Tottenham reportedly leading the interest.

A pacey forward with a proven track record, Doumbia has netted 167 times in 289 club career appearances – giving him a better strike rate than a goal every over game.

Though Newcastle have been reluctant to sign players over the age of 26 in recent years, the club’s hierarchy are willing to make exceptions this month in order to bolster a squad who remain in the Premier League’s bottom three with just 15 games left this season.

Here is a video of the lad in action:

He looks like a very exciting prospect.
